The Trinity
We believe that God is at work, to call people into a relationship with Himself and with others.
God is one - in three persons
A lot of Christians have lost an understanding of the fullness of God in the Trinity. Like focusing only on the Father's love, and forgetting the justice and holiness. Or others focus on aspects of Jesus' ministry and try to use it to justify their own special approach to scripture, but they forget that jesus is Lord and is the one we submit to. Finally, they may try to either use the holy Spirit as some sort of magic, or try hard to box in the holy spirit into a limited box. What we need in the church today is a renewed focus and understanding on the complete God. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit
God, The Father…
The Father is working to redeem people and adopt them into His family, we want to partner with Him in this work. We believe that The Father desires to be with us and give us the name He has for us and His identity. Then, as we know that, we relate to one another differently and can be set free from the life that kept us in bondage to fakery and posturing and attempting to live out our own powerless stories. The Father is holy and has no sin in Him. He is just and right and does not make mistakes. He also sees us exactly the way we are and at the same time, sees us the way that He intends us to be. Because of this ability to see all and continue to love and extend redeeming grace, we can finally trust that we can have a real, fully aware, and fully capable Father. The love of the Father cannot be compared to anything we know.
The Son and Lord, Jesus Christ…
The Son of God, who has always existed and was fully divine and fully human, has been given all authority to lead us and to build His Church. We want to follow Him and acknowledge Him as He leads. We want to proclaim to all whom God brings that Jesus is our salvation and our hope. And, as the King and authority of all Heaven and Earth, we will follow His lead in the Holy pursuit of the great commission. Jesus overcame sin and lived a perfect, sinless life. He died as our sacrifice on the cross and rose from the dead. His resurrection and victory over death are important components of the Gospel. The Son has been given all of those that God the Father is drawing and He is building The Church to become His bride. We as believers in Jesus Christ are part of that plan and we submit ourselves willingly to the Lordship and leadership of Jesus.
The Holy Spirit…
Who is alive, active, and working in the hearts and lives of men and women. The Holy Spirit was sent by God to be our helper – walking alongside and within us to bring the life of God into our hearts. The Spirit is leading into truth, empowering new life, and producing character in followers that distinguishes them as uniquely Christian. The power and fruit of the Holy Spirit are what will sustain us and fill us. We believe that the work of the Spirit as described in the Bible continues today. Perhaps the most misunderstood is how the Holy Spirit is working today. Some would like to make the work of the Spirit into a magical thing, that we get to watch like spectators or use as a secret power. Others would try to limit the work of the Holy Spirit to only working inside of a heart and/or head. Because the Holy Spirit is God, we prefer to acknowledge that He is God, and submit to His work in whatever way He desires. We want to follow the leading and direction of the Holy Spirit as He takes us on the journey of the Kingdom.
All three persons of the Godhead are important and worthy of praise and following. They each have distinct personalities and roles. But at the same time, God is One. There is no beginning or creation of God. He has always been. He is beyond space and time, He is outside of the constructs that we live in. He created all things, knows all things, and has all power, ability, authority, and has no evil or malice. He alone will be proven as God when we ultimately come to judgment. We as created beings can not define God, nor can we dictate to Him what He is to do. We can not interpret the truth ourselves and dictate what is true. Instead, we are called to know His truth, and understand His view of the world. This is at once both comforting and challenging. Comforting in that we have One who will lead us into Truth, and challenging, in that we must accept Truth that is not of our own making.
Come with us and explore the Truth. Join in the Trinity Gathering and come to know who you are, who God is, and why it matters. Nothing in your life will ever be the same again.
